About Lusail
Lusail is a planned city on the coast north of Doha, built from scratch with wide boulevards, towers and a large marina. It is a modern district rather than a historic centre, and gives a view of Qatar's contemporary ambitions.
The golden bowl of Lusail Stadium is the best-known landmark, and nearby Place Vendome is a shopping and dining area designed in a Parisian style. Marina Promenade offers waterfront walks and cafes, the Katara Towers form a crescent that is a striking sight, and Qetaifan Island has a beach and leisure area.
Lusail suits architecture fans and visitors who enjoy new, planned places, usually as a half-day or evening trip from Doha. The cooler months from November to March are the best time to visit Lusail.
