Small island of waterfalls, old trees and folk-healing traditions
A compact island province in the Central Visayas famed for Cambugahay Falls, the Salagdoong and Paliton beaches, the century-old balete tree, and its folk-healing traditions.
About Siquijor
Siquijor is a small island in the Central Visayas, ringed by a single coastal road and known across the country for its folk healers and mystic reputation. The island itself is gentle and green, with quiet villages, coral beaches and clear water.
Cambugahay Falls is a multi-tiered cascade with swimming pools and a rope swing, while Salagdoong Beach offers a rock platform for jumping into the sea. The huge balete tree near Lazi, said to be a century old, is a popular stop, along with the old stone church and convent in the same town. Most visitors tour the island by motorbike in a day.
Siquijor suits travellers who like slow travel. The drier months from December to May are the most dependable.
