Denarau Island, Fiji: travel guide
Resort island by Nadi and the hub for ferries to the outer islands
A purpose-built resort island near Nadi linked to Viti Levu by a causeway, with a marina, golf course and cluster of international beach resorts; the main ferry hub for the outer islands.
About Denarau Island
Denarau Island is a purpose-built resort area beside Nadi, joined to Viti Levu by a causeway. It is a place of beachfront resorts, a marina, a golf course and a small cluster of restaurants and shops, rather than a traditional village or town.
Things to do on Denarau include golf, pool and spa days at the resorts, and dinner in the marina area. It is also the main departure point for ferries and cruises to the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands, so many people pass through here when island hopping.
It suits those who prefer comfort and convenience close to the airport, and families wanting a simple start or end to a Fiji holiday. The drier months, roughly May to October, are the most settled.
